Delete your Happy Reasons account
Last updated: 2026-09-21
How to request deletion
Happy Reasons is this app. It is also published as Video Journal Daily, the name used in our privacy policy and on the Android package. You can ask us to delete your account and the data we store for it. Start the request yourself in the app or on this website.
- Open the Happy Reasons app.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the request. You will be signed out.
- On the website, sign in, open Settings, and choose Delete account.
The 30-day window
Your data is deleted 30 days after you confirm. Sign in again within those 30 days to cancel the request and keep your account and data. After 30 days the deletion cannot be undone.
Data that is deleted
After the 30 days, we delete the data tied to your account:
- Your account profile, including your name, email, and settings.
- Sign-in links for Google, Apple, and any other provider connected to the account.
- Journals and their metadata, including dates, transcripts, sentiment, and any weather, location, or activity you chose to attach.
- Cloud copies of videos, photos, thumbnails, and attachments.
- Custom stickers and wallpapers stored for your account.
- Checklists, reminders, and journey progress.
- Happy Reasons posts you published, and likes, supports, reports, and views on those posts or that you made.
- Account activity and subscription event logs stored for your account.
- Push notification tokens.
- Feedback you sent while signed in.
Data that is kept
Some information stays, or is held by someone else:
- Purchase records held by Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat. We do not store your card number.
- An active subscription. This request does not cancel it. Cancel the subscription with Apple, Google Play, or on the website if you do not want to be billed.
- Journals that exist only on your device. Those stay until you delete them in the app or uninstall it.
- The journal-password backup in Apple Keychain or Android Block Store. Apple or Google holds that backup. It is never sent to our servers.
- Anonymized Amplitude analytics. Those events are not used to restore your journal.
